Sotte (the “App”) is an AI-assisted math learning companion app designed to help parents understand and explain math problems to their children. Users can capture or select images of math problems and receive AI-generated explanations. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the safeguards we apply. “We”, “our”, and “us” refer to Cob App.
2. Information We Collect
a) Contact (Support)
If you contact us at cob.support@cob-app.com, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use this information only to respond to inquiries and improve the App.
b) Account Information
Sotte uses Firebase Authentication with Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In.
Depending on the sign-in method, we may receive:
- Authentication identifiers
- Apple relay email address (if enabled)
- Google account email address
This information is used solely for authentication, subscription/account management, and maintaining access to the App.
c) Problem Images & Extracted Text
Users may upload or capture images of math problems.
The App processes:
- Problem images
- OCR-extracted text
- AI-generated explanations
- User-created tags and metadata
Purpose:
- Generate explanations
- Improve readability and organization inside the App
- Maintain user history and quota management
Storage:
- Problem history is primarily stored locally on the user’s device for the current MVP version.
- Certain account-related data (such as subscription state, usage quotas, referral information, and authentication state) may be stored securely in Firebase services.
We do not sell uploaded problem images or extracted text.
d) AI Processing
To generate explanations, extracted problem text may be transmitted through Firebase Functions to third-party AI models, including Google Gemini APIs.
Only the minimum necessary content is transmitted for generation purposes.
We do not use user problem content to train our own AI models.
Communications are encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
e) Analytics and Crash Reports (Firebase)
We use Firebase services to understand app performance and improve stability.
This may include:
- App usage events
- Diagnostic information
- Crash logs
- Device and performance metrics
We do not use analytics systems to intentionally collect or analyze users’ math problem content for advertising purposes.
f) Purchases and Subscriptions
Sotte offers subscription plans through Apple’s App Store billing system.
Purchase processing is handled by Apple. We do not receive or store full payment card information.
We may receive limited subscription status information necessary to determine entitlement access.
g) Notifications
The App may send reminders or study-related notifications if you enable notifications on your device.
Notification scheduling and delivery are handled by iOS. We do not collect the contents of notifications.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide AI-generated explanations
- Authenticate users
- Maintain subscription and quota systems
- Improve app quality and stability
- Diagnose crashes and technical issues
- Respond to support requests

- Communications with backend services use HTTPS/TLS encryption.
- Local device data is protected by iOS security mechanisms.

However, no system can guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Choices & Controls
You may:
- Delete the App and local history from your device
- Revoke camera/photo permissions in iOS Settings
- Revoke notification permissions in iOS Settings
- Stop using Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In
- Contact support regarding account-related requests
7. Data Retention
- Local problem history remains on the device until deleted by the user or until the App is removed.
- Account-related backend data may be retained as necessary for subscription verification, abuse prevention, legal compliance, and operational integrity.
- Analytics and crash data retention follows Firebase policies and configurations.
8. Children’s Privacy
Sotte is intended for a general audience and is primarily designed for use by parents supporting a child’s learning.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us improperly, please contact us.
9. International Data Transfers
Third-party services such as Firebase, Google, and Apple may process data on servers located outside your country or region.
Those services apply their own safeguards and security measures according to their respective policies.
10. Device Permissions
Sotte may request access to:
- Camera: to capture math problem images
- Photo Library: to select existing problem images
- Notifications: for reminders and study notifications
The App does not request microphone access, precise location access, or advertising tracking permission.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Material changes may be communicated within the App or through another appropriate channel.
Continued use of the App after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
