1. Introduction
Scroll (the “App”) is an iOS web browser that provides automatic scrolling, regular and private tabs, bookmarks, downloads, content and element blocking, and a share extension. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the App, how it is used, where it is stored, and the choices available to you. “We,” “our,” and “us” refer to Cob App.
The current version of Scroll does not require account registration and does not operate a Scroll-controlled backend that receives or stores your browsing history or webpage content. Most App data is processed and stored locally on your device. However, websites you visit and third-party services used by the App—including Google Search, Google Mobile Ads, and Apple services—may receive and process information directly as described below.
2. Information We Collect and Process
a) Contact Information (Support)
If you contact us at cob.support@cob-app.com, we receive your email address and the contents of your message, together with any information you choose to include. We use this information to respond to your inquiry, provide support, investigate issues, and improve the App.
b) Regular Browsing, Search, and Website Data
When you use regular browsing mode, the App may process and store locally:
- The URLs and titles of open regular tabs
- The active tab and tab-session state used to restore your session
- The URLs, titles, and closing times of recently closed regular tabs
- Website data managed by Apple WebKit, such as cookies, caches, and local website storage
When text entered into the address field is not recognized as a URL or hostname, the App sends that text to Google Search as a search query. You may avoid this by entering a complete website address or by navigating to another search service directly.
When you visit a website, your device communicates directly with that website or its service providers. Depending on the website and your actions, they may receive information such as your IP address, user-agent and device/browser information, requested URLs and query parameters, cookies and similar technologies, form entries, uploaded files, search terms, and data you choose to provide through a website permission. Those websites process information under their own privacy policies and terms. Scroll does not operate a server that receives or stores copies of your browsing history, form entries, uploaded files, or webpage content.
c) Private Browsing
Private tabs use a non-persistent WebKit data store and are designed not to save private tab sessions, recently closed tab records, or persistent site-permission decisions. Private browsing data may still be processed temporarily in memory while a tab is open. Files downloaded in a private tab are stored in temporary, tab-specific storage and are scheduled for deletion when that private tab is closed.
Private browsing does not make you anonymous. Websites, search providers, internet or network providers, Apple, Google Mobile Ads, and other third parties may still observe or retain information about your activity. App-level advertisements may also be displayed while private tabs are in use.
d) Bookmarks, Settings, and Content-Blocking Data
The App stores the following information locally as needed to provide its features:
- Bookmarks and bookmark folders, including titles, URLs, creation dates, and display order
- Home-page, automatic-scrolling, motion, and content-blocking preferences
- Limited counters used to control when an advertisement or App Store review prompt may be shown
If you use “Block This Element” or a similar element-blocking feature, the App may store the website host, page URL and title, CSS selectors, an element description, limited document-structure and placement metadata, timestamps, and rule settings. This information is used locally to recognize and hide the selected element on future visits. We do not intentionally transmit this element-blocking information, browsing history, or webpage content to a Scroll-controlled server or to Google Mobile Ads.
e) Website Permission Decisions
For certain website permission requests—such as camera, microphone, or device-motion/orientation access—the App may store the top-level website origin, the requesting origin, the permission type, and your allow or deny decision in regular browsing mode. This allows the App to apply the choice on later visits. Persistent site-permission decisions are not saved for private tabs.
If you grant a website access to camera, microphone, location, photos, files, or motion/orientation information, the requested data may be provided directly to that website through iOS and WebKit. We do not operate a server that receives or stores the raw camera, microphone, location, photo, file, or motion data supplied to the website.
f) Downloads and Shared URLs
For downloads, the App may process and store locally the source URL, source host, filename, download status, creation time, temporary resume information, and the downloaded file. Regular downloads are placed in the App’s temporary device storage unless you export or save them elsewhere.
The Scroll share extension may temporarily store a valid shared URL, a request identifier, and a creation timestamp in an App Group container so the main App can open the link. A pending shared URL is deleted after successful import or when it becomes stale, generally no later than seven days after it was received.
g) Advertising (Google Mobile Ads)
The App uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK to load and display advertisements. Google may process information including:
- IP address, which may be used to estimate general location
- Device identifiers, including an advertising identifier when available or other app- or developer-bounded identifiers
- Advertising data, such as ads shown to or interacted with by the user
- App and product-interaction information
- Performance, diagnostic, and non-user-related crash information
Google may use this information for advertising, measurement, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and service improvement in accordance with its own policies. We do not intentionally provide Google Mobile Ads with your browsing history, search queries, bookmarks, downloaded files, form entries, or webpage content.
The current version of the App does not request authorization under Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework. This does not prevent Google from processing other identifiers and network information that iOS permits. Advertising behavior may depend on your region, device settings, Google’s configuration, and any consent or privacy choices made available to you.
h) Apple Services, Product Information, and Diagnostics
The App may contact Apple’s App Store and StoreKit services to retrieve product names, availability, and localized prices for display. Any App Store transaction is processed by Apple, including payment credentials. We do not receive or store your full payment-card information.
Depending on your iOS privacy and analytics settings, Apple may provide us with limited crash or diagnostic information. The current version of Scroll does not include a separate first-party analytics platform or a separate third-party crash-reporting SDK. This does not include diagnostic and interaction information processed by Google Mobile Ads as described above.
3. How We Use Information
We use or process information to:
- Load and display websites requested by you
- Interpret address-field input and submit search queries
- Restore regular tabs and maintain recently closed tabs
- Provide bookmarks, downloads, sharing, private browsing, automatic scrolling, and content-blocking features
- Remember settings and website-permission decisions
- Load advertisements and retrieve App Store product information
- Respond to support requests and investigate technical issues
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, processing may be based on performance of the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the App, your consent for device permissions or advertising where required, or compliance with legal obligations.
We do not sell or rent your locally stored browsing history, bookmarks, downloaded files, or webpage content. Google Mobile Ads may use or share advertising-related information for advertising and analytics under Google’s policies. Depending on applicable law, some advertising processing may be classified as “sharing,” cross-context behavioral advertising, or targeted advertising even when no money is exchanged for the data.
4. Third-Party Services
The App relies on or interacts with the following third parties:

The current version does not use Firebase Authentication, a Scroll account provider, or a Scroll-controlled cloud database for browsing data.
5. Data Storage and Security
Most Scroll feature data is stored locally in the App’s sandbox or App Group container and is protected by iOS security mechanisms. Access to data is limited to the App, its share extension, iOS, and third-party services involved in the action you request.
Scroll can open both HTTPS and HTTP websites. Traffic to an HTTPS website is encrypted in transit, subject to that website’s security configuration. Traffic to an HTTP website is not encrypted and may be observed or modified by parties with access to the network path. You should avoid submitting sensitive information to HTTP websites.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information under our control. No device, transmission method, or storage system can guarantee absolute security, and we do not control the security practices of websites or third-party providers.
6. Your Choices and Controls
You may:
- Use private tabs to reduce local persistence of browsing data
- Close tabs and clear the recently closed list
- Add, edit, or delete bookmarks and bookmark folders
- Disable content blocking or delete individual element-blocking rules
- Approve or deny website permission requests when prompted
- Revoke camera, microphone, location, or photo-library access in iOS Settings
- Use iOS privacy and advertising controls
- Enter a complete URL or navigate directly to another search service instead of sending address-field text to Google Search
- Delete the App to remove its sandboxed local data, subject to iOS behavior and excluding copies you exported elsewhere or information retained by third parties
- Contact us regarding support communications or other information held by us
The current version does not provide a single in-App command that deletes all regular WebKit website data and every category of App-local data. Because most browsing information is stored only on your device and is not linked to a Scroll account, we generally cannot retrieve or delete that local information remotely.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent regarding personal information held by us. These rights are subject to applicable law. Requests concerning information controlled by a website, Google, or Apple may need to be directed to that provider.
7. Data Retention
We retain information according to the following general rules:
- Regular tab sessions, bookmarks, settings, blocking rules, and persistent site-permission decisions remain on the device until you delete or change them, the App replaces them as part of normal operation, or the App is removed.
- Recently closed tab records remain until you clear them or they are replaced by newer records.
- Regular WebKit cookies, caches, and local website storage may remain until removed by WebKit or iOS, or until the App is removed.
- Pending shared URLs are removed after successful import or when stale, generally within seven days.
- Regular downloaded files may remain in the App’s temporary storage until iOS purges them or the App is removed. Files you export or save elsewhere remain under the control of the destination you selected.
- Private-tab website data and private download files are designed to be discarded when the relevant private tab is closed, but websites and other third parties may retain their own records.
- Support messages are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain records, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations.
- Google and Apple retain information according to their own policies and configurations.
8. Children’s Privacy
Scroll is a general-purpose browser and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through a Scroll account or Scroll-controlled backend because the current version does not provide those systems.
Websites opened in the App and advertising services may have their own age requirements and data practices. A parent or guardian who believes a child has improperly provided personal information to us should contact us so that we can review the matter.
9. International Data Transfers
Google, Apple, websites you visit, and their service providers may process information on servers located outside your country or region. Those providers apply their own legal terms and safeguards. Where required, we take reasonable steps regarding information transferred by us, but we do not control transfers performed independently by websites or other third parties.
10. Device Permissions
The App may request access to:
- Camera: to allow a website, after your approval, to capture photos or video
- Microphone: to allow a website, after your approval, to capture audio
- Location While Using the App: to provide location information to a website after authorization
- Photo Library: to select files or images for website upload and, where supported, save images or downloaded media
- Motion and Orientation: to allow a website to use motion or orientation information after your approval
You can change system-level permissions in iOS Settings. Granting a system permission does not necessarily authorize every website; the App or WebKit may also request a site-specific decision. Once access is granted, the receiving website’s use of the data is governed by its own privacy policy.
The current version does not request precise background location, contacts, health data, calendars, Bluetooth access, or Apple App Tracking Transparency authorization.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, its SDKs, legal requirements, or our practices change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes may be communicated in the App or through another appropriate channel. Where consent is legally required for a new practice, we will request it separately.
