1. Introduction
TubeTab is an app for iPhone and iPad that lets you organize YouTube channels into custom tabs, search for and watch videos, use continuous playback and a playback queue, and manage Watch Later and playback history. Cob App operates TubeTab. In this policy, the App refers to TubeTab, and we, us and our refer to Cob App. This policy explains the information processed through the App, its purposes, external recipients, storage and available controls.
You can use the core features without registering an account. Management information, such as tabs and channel assignments, is stored on your device and is not synchronized to our servers. Information is nevertheless sent to external providers when retrieving or playing YouTube content, using Google analytics and advertising services, or processing purchases through Apple.
2. Information We Collect and Process
a) Support Inquiries
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, message, attachments and any other information you choose to provide. We use this information to respond, investigate problems, maintain support records and improve our services. You can contact us at cob.support@cob-app.com.
b) Management Information Stored on Your Device
The App primarily stores the following information on your device to provide its features and restore your previous state:
- Tab names, display order, visibility and channel assignments
- Registered channel identifiers, names, thumbnail URLs, registration dates and related information
- Cached video identifiers, titles, channel information, descriptions, thumbnail URLs, publication dates, durations, video types and related metadata
- Your playback queue and Watch Later list, including dates added and ordering
- Playback history, last playback dates, saved video positions and update dates
- Preferences for layout, sorting, text size, continuous playback, playback resumption and other features
- Limited counters used to manage advertisement presentation and prompts about the ad removal plan
The App does not upload the contents of these lists and preferences to a server operated by us. However, identifiers needed to retrieve information or play videos are sent to YouTube, and the use of features and categories of settings is included in the usage analytics described below.
c) Search and Retrieval of Channel and Video Information
The App retrieves publicly available channel, video and playlist information through YouTube RSS feeds, web pages and related services. Searches send the terms you enter to YouTube. Feed updates and requests for details send relevant channel, video or playlist identifiers, page URLs, display parameters and similar information.
During these connections, YouTube, Google and related delivery services may receive your IP address, access time, technical device and browser information, request contents, cookies and similar information. Network requests also occur when loading lists, search results, thumbnails or video details, even if you have not played a video.
The current version does not persist search terms as a separate search history maintained by the App. It does not use Google account OAuth authorization to retrieve subscriptions or private history from your YouTube account. Registering channels or organizing tabs within the App does not change subscriptions in your YouTube account.
d) YouTube Playback, Comments and Cookies
The App uses YouTube API Services, including the YouTube embedded player. Your use of YouTube content and features is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
Loading the embedded player sends information to YouTube for purposes such as displaying the video, determining playback availability and preventing abuse. Playback may involve additional processing of information about the selected video, playback and interactions. This also occurs when a video starts automatically through continuous playback or a similar feature.
On playback and comment screens, YouTube and related services may store or access cookies, caches, local storage and other website data on your device. These screens use a persistent WebKit data store, so data may remain after you close the screen. Some search and information retrieval functions use nonpersistent data stores. This does not make the connection anonymous or delete records held by YouTube.
Information you enter or actions you take on YouTube web pages are processed by that service. Advertisements associated with YouTube content may also be shown. Deleting playback history or other data in TubeTab does not delete information held by YouTube or Google.
e) Usage Analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand feature usage and evaluate improvements. Usage collection is enabled in the current distributed version. Information is sent to Google, and we review it through analytics reports and related tools.
- Categories of screen and feature usage, tab and channel management, and search submissions, successes or failures
- Playback starts, completions and failures, and the route used to start playback, such as search, a tab or the queue
- Categories of preferences, such as layout, text size and continuous playback
- Purchase screen visits, plan types, entitlement status, purchase and restoration attempts, and their outcomes
- Information handled by the SDK, such as an identifier for the app installation, sessions, engagement time, app, operating system, device and language information, approximate region and automatically measured events
Our custom analytics events do not include search terms, tab names, video, channel or playlist identifiers or titles, URLs, comment text, email addresses, purchase receipts or transaction identifiers. SDK automatic measurement is separate, and supported purchase events may include product identifiers, prices and similar information.
We use a Firebase Analytics configuration without advertising identifier collection capability and disable IDFV collection and automatic screen reporting. These settings do not disable analytics based on an app installation identifier or processing by other SDKs or YouTube. Buying the ad removal plan does not automatically disable usage analytics.
For additional information about processing by Google, see the Google Privacy Policy and Privacy and Security in Firebase.
f) Advertising and Consent Information
The App uses Google Mobile Ads, also known as Google AdMob, for advertisements added by the App. Google and relevant advertising services may process the following information to load, display and measure advertisements, prevent fraud and improve quality:
- IP address and an approximate location inferred from it
- Available device identifiers scoped to an app, developer or similar context
- Advertisement impressions and interactions, and app interaction and usage information
- Technical information such as performance, diagnostics and crash data
- Consent information, regional privacy choices and their status
The current version does not request authorization under Apple App Tracking Transparency. The App does not add search terms, tab names, video or channel identifiers, or lists of playback history to advertising requests. The advertising SDK may nevertheless collect and process information through its own operation.
The App uses Google User Messaging Platform to check advertising consent information and display a consent form when required. Advertising requests are made when that platform permits them. When a privacy options entry point is required, the App provides one in Settings. The forms and choices available depend on region, device, Google configuration and other applicable conditions.
While an ad removal entitlement is active, the App stops loading and presenting new advertisements added by TubeTab. This purchase does not remove advertisements served by YouTube, delete information previously sent to Google, or stop usage analytics or YouTube connections.
g) Purchases, Entitlements and Apple Services
The App uses Apple App Store and StoreKit services to obtain product information and localized prices, process purchase and restoration results, verify transactions and determine ad removal entitlements. Apple processes payment credentials. We do not obtain your payment card number or Apple Account password.
The current version does not transmit purchase receipts or transaction information to a server operated by us. However, analytics events about purchase actions and entitlement categories, as well as supported automatic SDK purchase events, may be processed as described above.
Depending on your device settings and other applicable conditions, Apple may provide us with crash or diagnostic information. The App does not use Firebase Crashlytics. For information about processing by Apple, see the Apple Privacy Policy.
h) External Links
Opening an external link passes its destination URL to the app or browser used to open it. Information processing at the destination is governed by the policies of that service and your settings.

4. External Services and Recipients
| Purpose | Main services | Main information | Processing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Content retrieval and playback | YouTube / Google and related delivery services | Search terms, content identifiers, connection information, playback and interaction data, cookies and similar data | The device connects directly to these services, which process information under their terms and policies. |
| Usage analytics | Google Analytics for Firebase | App installation identifiers, interaction, preference and purchase events, device and app information | Information is sent to Google and used by us to understand app usage. |
| Advertising and consent | Google AdMob / User Messaging Platform | IP address, available identifiers, advertising, interaction and diagnostic information, consent status | Used for advertising, measurement, consent management, fraud prevention and related purposes. |
| Purchases and entitlements | Apple App Store / StoreKit | Product, transaction, restoration and entitlement information | Apple processes purchases, and the App verifies entitlements. |
| Operating system, web display and backups | Apple iOS / iPadOS / WebKit and related services | Local app and website data, and backup or diagnostic information depending on settings | Handled according to device and Apple settings. |
| Support and external links | Email services and services used to open external links | Support messages, sender addresses, external link URLs and similar information | Used to respond to inquiries or open external links. |
When we engage a provider to process information on our behalf, we select and manage that provider so that protection is consistent with this policy and applicable law. We may also disclose information to the extent necessary to meet legal requirements or protect rights and safety.
5. Data Storage and Security
Tabs, channel assignments, playback data, preferences and caches are primarily stored within the App data and preferences areas and are subject to standard iOS and iPadOS security protections. Even without a cloud synchronization feature operated by us, app data may be included in device backups depending on your backup settings.
The App uses HTTPS to retrieve information from services such as YouTube. We take reasonable measures to protect information under our control from unauthorized access or disclosure. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Information managed by external services is also subject to the security measures of those providers.
6. Your Choices and Controls
You can manage your information and use of the App in the following ways:
- Create, change or delete tabs, register or remove channels, and change their assignments
- Remove individual items or clear each of the playback queue, Watch Later list and playback history
- Change continuous playback, playback resumption and display preferences
- Review or change advertising privacy options when the relevant entry appears in Settings
- Manage subscriptions through Apple settings and related controls
- Stop using or delete the App
Clearing playback history does not automatically clear saved playback positions, Watch Later or the playback queue. Removing a channel may leave videos saved in these collections. The App does not provide a single operation that clears all data, including website data, saved playback positions and every cache.
The current version does not have a dedicated switch for stopping only usage analytics or a dedicated screen for directly deleting analytics data. Choices offered through advertising privacy settings apply to the purposes and scope shown in that form.
Deleting the App normally removes data within its app storage. This does not necessarily remove device backups, information retained in Keychain from an earlier version, copies retained in external apps or other locations, or information already held by Google, Apple or other providers. Offloading the App may retain its documents and data.
You may contact cob.support@cob-app.com to request access, correction, deletion, restriction of use or withdrawal of consent concerning personal information we hold or control, as provided by applicable law. We may request information reasonably needed to verify your identity or locate the relevant records. Email addresses are not normally linked to analytics identifiers, so an email address alone may not allow us to identify particular analytics records.
For history and activity managed by YouTube or Google, you can also use their controls, such as Google My Activity. We do not have a mechanism to remotely retrieve or delete information stored only on your device.
7. Data Retention
- Tabs, channel registrations, Watch Later, the playback queue and preferences remain until deleted or changed, replaced through normal operation, or removed with the App.
- Playback history retains up to the 200 most recent videos. Saved playback positions retain up to 500 videos, ordered by the most recent update. Older entries are removed as the limits are exceeded. Manual deletion of playback history is separate from retention of playback positions.
- Feed caches are replaced during updates. Video metadata and similar caches do not have a uniform deletion period measured in days and may remain until updated or the App is deleted.
- Cookies and similar data in persistent WebKit storage may remain until removed by WebKit, the operating system or service expiry rules, or until the App is deleted. Nonpersistent data is handled temporarily while the relevant data store is in use.
- If data has been migrated from an earlier version, recovery copies of old files and identifiers in Keychain may remain on the device. The current version does not refresh legacy Google authorization tokens or use them for network authentication.
- Support information is retained as needed to respond, provide continuing support, maintain necessary records and meet legal obligations.
- Analytics information is retained as needed to evaluate usage trends and improvements, subject to Google Analytics retention settings and Google processing and deletion policies. Aggregate reports and individual events may be subject to different retention rules.
- Information retained by external providers for advertising, YouTube, purchases and related services is governed by their policies and your settings. Deleting the App does not by itself delete information already transmitted to them.
8. Privacy of Children
TubeTab is a general audience app and is not a service designed specifically for children. YouTube content, account features and advertising services are subject to the age requirements and data protection practices of those services.
If a parent or guardian believes that personal information about a child has been inappropriately provided to us, please contact our support address. We will investigate and take deletion or other action as required by applicable law.
9. International Data Transfers
Google, Apple, email services and other providers may process or store information on servers outside your country or region. Data protection laws in those locations may differ from those where you live. When we arrange an international disclosure or engage a provider abroad, we apply safeguards required by applicable law. Please also consult the privacy policy of each external provider for its transfer practices and safeguards.
10. Device Permissions
The current version does not request system permissions for the camera, microphone, photo library, location, contacts, calendar, health data, Bluetooth, notifications or App Tracking Transparency.
The absence of these permission requests does not prevent processing of IP addresses associated with network connections, identifiers handled by SDKs, app interaction data or cookies as described above. Permissions for services opened in an external app or browser are controlled by that app or browser.
11. Changes to This Policy
We update this policy when features, external services, legal requirements or information practices change. We will revise the effective date above and communicate material changes through the App or another appropriate method. Where required by law, we will obtain separate consent for the changed processing.
